This is the most unique and in-depth sanctuary experience that we've ever offered! This is the second time we've offered this in our online auction. The winner in 2014 traveled from the east coast for this experience and still talks about it.

You will not only get to see the sanctuary from the "behind the scenes" perspective, but you will have an in depth tour, shadowing a chimpanzee caregiver as they explain chimpanzee behavior. You'll also prepare food and enrichment and get to see the chimpanzees enjoying what you've prepared! You'll arrive at the sanctuary at 11:00am, get oriented, meet the chimpanzees, then help with chores, prepare produce, and set up a lunch forage on Young's Hill. You will prepare the chimps' dinner and then watch them be served, staying to enjoy their enjoyment of night bags (their favorite after-dinner-treat) at the end of the day. You can say goodnight as you watch the chimpanzees gather their blankets to make their nests, and then leave knowing that you made a difference in their lives that day.

Bring your questions! Trained staff will be with you to answer anything as you spend the day getting to know the chimpanzees and learning more about the sanctuary.

Must be at least 18 years old. Must have proof of negative TB test within the last 12 months and must not have any signs of a contagious illness (cold, flu, etc.) at your visit. You will remain a few feet away from the chimpanzees' habitat at all times and will be accompanied by staff for the entirety of your visit. Must arrange a mutually agreed upon date either September of 2016 or June-September, 2017. Transportation to and from the sanctuary is winning bidder's responsibility - Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest is located outside of the town of Cle Elum, 90 miles from Seattle.
